Ştiam că, dacă i-aş cere să rămână, ar rămâne. Pentru mine. Ştiam că ar face orice ca să fie alături de mine, că aceasta era Voinţa lui, să-i fiu aproape până la refuz. Eu aveam momente în care nu voiam să aud de el, să-i ascult vocea sau să-l văd. Voiam să mă îndepărtez total, să pun punct la tot. Atunci vedeam numai momentele de furie, numai certurile şi banalităţile ce au existat între noi. Refuzam să-mi amintesc orice altceva. Dar la puţin timp aproape că mă durea fizic absenţa lui. Îl căutam în orice, plină de dorinţă şi de pasiune, şi nu-l aveam alături să-mi revărs toate sentimentele asupra lui. Dacă el voia să-i fiu aproape până la refuz, eu îl doream, dar în acelaşi timp puteam la fel de bine să mă lipsesc de el. Voiam să ştiu cum e să-l am şi să-l pierd de nenumărate ori doar ca să reaprind pasiunea şi dragostea. Eram conştientă că el mă iubea prea mult pentru binele său. Nu ştia nici el cât, dar mă iubea îndeajuns de mult încât să nu vrea cu niciun chip să renunţe la mine şi era capabil să fugă în lume cu mine. Probabil că într-un acces de pasiune nebunească chiar aş fi fugit cu el. Norocul meu era că nici unul dintre noi nu dispuneam de banii necesari să punem măcar la cale un astfel de plan.
